Gearing up - Boys Toys! Head cams...

I've finally splashed out and bought a head cam ready for our trip... :)
I've opted for the GoPro Hero3.  It's small, light and records at some silly resolutions and frame rates.
I've been playing around with different locations and angles on my bike.

Starting off with the standard Camera on the helmet...  a short clip from this mornings ride.  It was a lovely day to be riding, a bit cold but beautifully sunny.    Recorded in 1440p 30fps.

A couple of other locations can be seen in this short video about one of the climbs in an up and coming charity ride we are organising.

A quick blast up Tripp Hill in St Neot

Upsides of the GoPro are its resoultion and clarity... down sides seem to be it battery life which when used with the WiFi remote or the phone app seems to be pretty short :(   on the upside when used without and just activated using the buttons seems to be just under 2 Hrs which is going to be more than long enough, oh yeah it also EATS momory cards!

More gears than you can shake a stick at...!

Sean's new gearing ready for the off. Apex 11/32 on the rear should make a massive difference on those long hilly days!

Hard training sessions

Training sessions taking a lot of motivation in the rain. Cold wet starts are hard to keep the spirits going but turbo training in doors has helped and just started trying a new PhD 2:1 recovery drink, so lets see if it helps.
Weights going well, down to 69.5 kg so not bad, target of 68kg before Tenerife then 8 weeks to get any excess back off and down to 68kg.

Idiot drivers still on the roads, will try and upload a video recorded on my head cam. Hand signals and still over takes. The van over took ok but the blue Mazda  BF 58 MXJ forced pasted even after I had moved to the middle, IDIOT, is possible a bit tame.
