Spares...
Big question on our minds is how many spares to take? you can guarantee what ever you take you'll need the one thing you haven't got, with that in mind Sean has offered to take his spare bike just in case!
The spares list looks like this so far...
Nigel:
Chain x1 +Tool
Spokes x5 +Tool (Not multi-tool!)
Tubes x5
Tyre x1
Brake pads (1 set)
Cleates
Pedals
GT85 x2
Assortment of cables
Rear Mech hanger (Sean and i both have the same bike so 1 between us)
Saddle (I love my Charge Spoon but a different type might be good for a change!)

Only 2 weeks to go till we're off and reality has started to sink in...
With that in mind the weekends ride was more a case of having too rather than wanting too!, I'll explain... Saturday or Sunday would have been the day to ride as the weather was perfect but that wasn't an option, the weather forecast for bank holiday Monday said windy with rain from around mid day on so an early start was needed if i was going to get any serious miles in.
6:50am it was then... surprisingly warm and a very pleasant ride to start right up to Davidstow! at which point the wind really kicked in... kicked in my face and it stayed that way pretty much all the way home then to top it off a spoke broke near the top of MiddleWood hill... grrr so the 70 miles i had planned ended up being a very tough and slow 55. Looking on the bright side i didn't get wet :)
